Whatsapp is by far the most popular cross-platform messaging app due to its simple design, sharing features (including photos, videos, contacts and location) and call support.
Additionally like any other instant messaging app, it lets you know if your message was delivered and read by the recipient, whether your friends are online or not and if they are offline, it shows the last seen timestamp. This is where the trouble lies. There are many users who are uncomfortable with the “Last Seen” timestamp and many prefer to avoid this. Well, the good news is that it is very simple to disable such a feature by following the steps outline below.
How to disable “Last Seen” timestamp in Whatsapp:
Step 1: Open Whatsapp and tap on the Settings tab
Step 2: Tap on Account
Step 3: Tap on Privacy
Step 4: Open Last Seen option and choose “Nobody“. Additionally, if you only want the people in your contacts to see your last seen timestamp, then you have to choose “My Contacts”. The same can be applied for your Profile Photo and Status
By following the above steps, you can successfully hide your last seen timestamp from your contacts. The good thing is that in latest versions of WhatsApp, the 24 hours wait restriction has been removed so you can hide or unhide your last seen timestamp instantaneously.
