With the recent firmware update rolled out to Playstation 4 by Sony, one of the higlighting new features is Remote Play, which allows you to stream any Playstation 4 game to your Mac or Windows PC over a WiFi or ethernet connection and let you control your Playstation remotely from the computer.

Step 1: First things first, make sure you have the latest firmware installed on your PS4 by going to Settings > System Software Update . You should have firmware version 3.5 or above.
Step 2: Ensure that both your Playstation 4 and computer are connected to the same internet network.
Step 3: Enable Remote Play on PS4 by going to Settings -> Remote Play Connection Settings and ticking the box labelled “Enable Remote Play”.
Step 5: Make sure PS4 is chosen as your primary device by going to Settings -> Playstation Network/Account Management -> Activate as Your Primary PS4 -> Activate.
Step 4: Now, go to this link to download Remote Play app and install it on your Mac or Windows PC.
Step 5: Using a USB cable, connect your Playstation 4 controller to your computer. Keep in mind that Remote Play will only work with a PS4 controller.
Step 6: Launch Remote Play app on your computer and sign in with your Sony account. The app will then search for your PS4 and register it. Be patient at this step as it might take a few minutes to complete.
After following the above steps successfully, you should now be able to control your PS4 remotely from your Mac or Windows machine and stream your games to play it on the computer.
You can also adjust the resolution and frame rate via Remote Play’s Preferences section. If there are performance issues while playing a PS4 game on your computer then it is a good idea to reduce the resolution and adjust the frame rate accordingly.
