Most of us must have been in a situation where iPhone fails to connect to the iOS App Store or iTunes Store. You will continuously get an error message saying “Cannot Connect to App Store” or “Cannot Connect to iTunes Store” whenever you try to access these two services.
One of the main reasons behind this error is that your device is not connected to the internet or you don’t have proper access to it (poor WiFi signal). However if that’s not the case, we have found a range of solutions that could help fix this error on your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch.
1. Reset All Settings
Step 1: Make sure the App Store and iTunes store are closed on your device and not visible in App Switcher
Step 2: Launch Settings app
Step 3: Go to General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings
Step 4: Reboot your device
After your device has rebooted, open iTunes Store or App Store and you should be able to access them without any issues. If the problem still persists, follow the other methods outlined below.
2. Switch from WiFi to 3G or vice versa
Step 1: Weak WiFi signal or poor network connectivity is one of the main reasons why you get the connection error message in iTunes Store or App Store. If you’re on WiFi, close iTunes Store or App Store and turn off WiFi.
Step 2: Switch on 3G from Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data
Step 3: Open iTunes Store or App Store and if it connects, then the problem is with your WiFi.
3: Change the date on your device
Step 1: This is one of the most common workarounds to this issue. To get started, launch the Settings app
Step 2: Go to General -> Date & Time
Step 3: Enable Set Automatically
Step 4: Close iTunes or App Store and launch them again
If you’ve followed the above methods, make sure to let us know which one worked for you in the comments section below. If you have any other workarounds, do let us know as well.
