It’s been reported that Instagram is working on a new design for its mobile application that adopts a flatter design with white and black UI elements. Instagram has selected a small set of users to test the new design of its app but it’s unknown when it will be launched to the public.
If you’re fond of the new design and can’t wait to get your hands on it, check out a new jailbreak tweak known as IGExperiments that lets anyone experience Instagram’s new black and white UI design. The tweak also lets you get a sneak peek at the hidden experimental features of Instagram that isn’t available to everyone.
Once you install IGExperiments from Cydia, launch Instagram and head to your profile or anyone else’s profile. You’ll see a new button in the top left corner of the app that looks more like a flask.
Tap on the button to view the experimental features of Instagram that this tweak reveals. Scroll down the list until you see three options labelled:
- Whiteout Icon Rebranding
- Whiteout Dogfooding
- White Camera Dogfooding
Open each of these options and select Enabled for all three of them. Once done, close Instagram from the App Switcher and launch it again. You’ll now notice that Instagram’s interface has changed to the sleek new UI with black and white elements.
Apart from this, IGExperiment reveals a bunch of other experimental features that you can enable such as 60 seconds video uploads and switching to Business account to view insights from Facebook.
If Instagram hasn’t selected you for testing its new UI design then IGExperiment is a great way of experiencing it. It’s not known when the app will be updated in the App Store with the new design. It could be weeks or months but you can get it instantly right now with this new tweak. It works flawlessly without any issues and is definitely worth the try.
