In this tutorial, we will show you how to fix your iPhone stuck on Apple logo.
One of the common issues that iOS users face is that their iPhone gets stuck on the Apple logo forever. I’ve been in this situation many times before, not to mention that it is a very bad feeling that gets much worse when you realize that you forgot to take a backup of all the important data and information stored on that iPhone.
This issue is very common among jailbreak users and may also happen when you’re just updating or restoring your iPhone to the latest firmware. Luckily, there are a couple of ways that can fix your iPhone stuck on the Apple Logo.
The first method fixes the issue without a restore, but there are less chances that it will be successful. However, the second method will most definitely work.
How to Fix an iPhone or iPad Stuck on Apple Logo
Method 1: Do a hard reset
Sometimes you can fix this issue by performing a hard reset. To do so, press and hold the Sleep/Power and Home buttons together for 5 – 10 seconds until your device restarts and the Apple logo shows up. If you own an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you have to use the Volume Down and Sleep/Power buttons instead.
Wait for some time and if your device successfully boots to the Lock screen, then you’re safely out of this mess without losing your important data. If not, read the next method below.
Method 2: Put into DFU mode and restore
If hard resetting your iPhone doesn’t fix the issue, then the only way out is to put it into DFU mode and restore. This will unfortunately erase all the data on your device. If you already have a backup stored in iTunes or iCloud, then you’re safe. If not, you can try third-party tools to see if you can extract the important data from your iPhone before restoring.
One such tool for extracting the data is ULTDATA by TenorShare. I am in no way affiliated with them and can’t guarantee that it will work for sure as I haven’t tried it, but they do have a trial version which you can try and see if it helps.
Now back to the restore method, here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: Ensure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone or iPad to the computer via a USB cable.
Step 3: Put it into DFU mode:
iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus:
- Press and hold the Sleep/Power button on the right side of your iPhone and the Volume Down buttons at the same time for 10 seconds.
- After that, release the Sleep/Power button while still holding the Volume Down button until a pop-up message appears on iTunes stating that the iPhone is in recover mode.
Other iPhone or iPad models:
- Press and hold the Sleep/Power and Home buttons together for 10 seconds.
- After that, release the Sleep/Power button while still holding the Home button until a pop-up message appears on iTunes stating that the iPhone is in recover mode.
Step 4: Now you have to click the Restore button in iTunes to restore your iPhone.
This method will definitely fix the issue and get your iPhone out of the Apple logo. If you have a backup saved in iTunes or iCloud, you can use it to restore the data on your iPhone.
