If you’ve been waiting eagerly for an iOS 10.2 jailbreak, you’ll be glad to know that Luca Todesco finally released the jailbreak today.
The iOS 10.2 Yalu jailbreak is flagged as “alpha”, which means that it isn’t a stable jailbreak and may create issues on your iOS device. Additionally, the jailbreak supports a limited set of iOS devices including iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE and iPad Pro.

Warning: the iOS 10.2 Yalu jailbreak is unstable and can create problems on your device. Proceed at your own risk.
Before you begin, make sure to read these important points:
- Take a complete backup of your iPhone or iPad using iCloud or iTunes.
- This jailbreak supports iOS 10.2 and works on the following devices only:
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPad Pro
- If you’re on iOS 10.1 – iOS 10.1.1, then you can follow the guide here to jailbreak.
- This jailbreak is semi-tethered.
- If the jailbreak doesn’t work properly, then you have to restore your device to the latest iOS firmware, which is iOS 10.2.1 currently.
How to Jailbreak iOS 10 – iOS 10.2 using Yalu & Cydia Impactor
Step 1: Download Cydia Impactor from here.
Step 2: Download the iOS 10.2 Yalu IPA from here. As of this writing, the file is called yalu102_alpha.ipa.
Step 3: Connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer using a USB cable.
Step 4: Double click on Cydia Impactor to open it. Your device’s name should appear in Impactor.
Step 5: Drag and drop the Yalu IPA file onto Cydia Impactor.
Step 6: Cydia Impactor will ask for your Apple ID and password. This information is verified with Apple’s servers only and is used to sign the jailbreak IPA file.
Step 7: After you enter your Apple ID and password, Cydia Impactor will install the jailbreak app onto your device. Once done, you should see its icon, labelled “yalu102”, on the Home screen.
Step 8: Go to Settings -> General -> Profiles, open the profile corresponding to your Apple ID and tap on the “Trust” button.
Step 9: Now go back to the Home screen and open the yalu102 app.
Step 10: Press the Go button for the jailbreak to begin.
Step 11: Avoid using your device until the jailbreak is completed. Once it’s done, your device will reboot and you should see Cydia on the Home screen. If you don’t see it, open the yalu102 app again and re-jailbreak.
Your iOS 10.2 device should be jailbroken now. You can launch Cydia and start installing your favorite tweaks. Keep in mind that you should only install the jailbreak tweaks that are compatible with iOS 10.2 to avoid facing issues. The list of iOS 10 compatible jailbreak tweaks is here.
