If you install a faulty or incompatible jailbreak tweak, it can¬†create problems on your device, slow it down or in extreme cases, force it into a continuous¬†bootloop.
No Substrate Mode is a useful feature that allows you to boot your device into jailbreak mode while disabling all the installed tweaks. This enables you to remove faulty tweaks that are creating issues and put your device back into a stable state. This feature is extremely useful when your device is in a bootloop.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to enter ‘No Substrate Mode’ on a jailbroken iOS 10 iPhone, iPad or iPod and remove jailbreak tweaks that are causing problems.
How to Enter No Substrate Mode on iOS 10 Yalu Jailbreak and Remove Faulty Tweak
Step 1: Reboot your device so that the jailbreak is disabled.
Step 2: Open the Yalu jailbreak app.
Step 3: Next,¬†tap on “go” and¬†then immediately hold the Volume Up and Sleep/Power buttons together.
Step 4: Keep holding these buttons until your device restarts and the Lock screen is displayed.
Step 5: At this point, your device will be in No Substrate Mode.¬†Open Cydia and remove the jailbreak tweaks which you think are causing issues.
That’s all you need to do to¬†boot into No Substrate Mode and fix the issues caused by a faulty jailbreak tweak. If you’d like to get out of No Substrate Mode, simply restart your device. To do so, hold the Power button and slide to power off. Then turn on your device and re-jailbreak using the Yalu app.
