Here’s how to use Twitter Lite on iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android, and Windows Phone.
Twitter Lite is a leaner and stripped-down version of mobile Twitter that greatly reduces the data usage and loads much faster. This allows Twitter to become more accessible to people who have a slow network connection or limited data allowance.
Twitter Lite provides all the key features of Twitter, including Tweets, timeline, Direct Messages, media uploads, and much more. The key difference is that the data consumption is now low.
In addition, there is now a new Data Saver mode, which further reduces the cellular data consumption. The way it works is that images, GIFs, and videos will not load automatically as you scroll past them, unless you tap on them. This prevents Twitter from loading the media that you’re not interested in.
Twitter Lite works on any mobile device, whether it be iOS, Android, or a Windows Phone. Here’s how you can access and use Twitter Lite.
How to Use Twitter Lite on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone
Step 1: Open your favorite browser on your mobile and go to mobile.twitter.com.
Step 2: Sign into your account using your username and password.
Step 3: Tap on your profile picture.
Step 4: Turn on the Data Saver toggle.
Now when you browse Twitter, image previews will appear blurred and other media will not load until you tap on them manually to view. This along with other enhancements made in Twitter Lite greatly reduces the data consumption of Twitter and allows it to load pretty fast.
