Here’s how you can change iPhone password/passcode and ensure that no one accesses your device without your permission.
There are two ways that you can secure your iPhone. You can use Touch ID which involves registering a fingerprint and using it with Touch ID to unlock your iPhone, or you can use a 4-digit, 6-digit, or an alpha-numeric passcode.
If you are using a passcode to keep your iPhone protected, then it is important that you change it every once in a while to prevent an unauthorized person from accessing your iOS device. It may be possible that someone has found out what your password is, which is why it’s a good idea to change it every once in a while.
Here’s how you can change the iPhone passcode to a new one.
How to Change iPhone Password / Passcode
Step 1: Open Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Touch ID & Passcode.
Step 3: You’ll be asked to enter your current passcode.
Step 4: Next up, tap on Change Passcode.
Step 5: Enter your old/current passcode.
Step 6: Now enter the new passcode which you wish to use.
The new passcode has now been set for your iPhone. When you lock your device and attempt to unlock it, entering the old passcode will no longer work. You now have to enter the new passcode which you just created.
As mentioned earlier, it is extremely important to change your iPhone password every once in a while to make sure that it isn’t compromised and that the important files on it stay private and secure.
It may be worth noting that Touch ID is a stronger form of security than a passcode as your fingerprint is unique to yourself, thus allowing no one other than yourself to unlock your iPhone. Also, it eliminates the need of having to remember your passcode.
